The Wayne County Health Department will offer the third dose/booster dose of COVID-19 starting Monday, August 23rd.

Health officials say the shot will be available to people who qualify by appointment only. If you do qualify, you're asked to call (618)-842-5166 to schedule an on-site appointment.

Officials say masks will be required and curb-side vaccinations are also being offered upon request.

Those who come out will need to bring their COVID-19 card, along with current insurance cards/Medicare Part B card.

Wayne County Health officials say for moderately to severely immunocompromised people who already received two doses of either Pfizer of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, a third dose/booster of either brand of these two vaccines can be given at least 28 days after the second dose.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
