More scheduling changing due to COVID-19 concerns facing western Kentucky High School football.
Webster County Schools have announced on Twitter that they have cancelled various games this week, including its home football game Friday against Union County, due to Union, Henderson, and Christian Counties being in the "red zone."
The "red zone" metnioned is in reference to the Kentucky Department of Public Health database that shows the three counties with higher daily average numbers of COVID-19 per 100,000 people for the past seven days.
According to the latest dashboard update, Union County was at 41.7 cases, Henderson was at 31,9 cases, and Christian was at 27.8 cases.
In comparison, Webster County is at 17.7 cases for the last seven days.
While Webster County continues to look for a new opponent for this Friday, Union County has already found an opponent. Confirming on Twitter, the school will travel to Greenwood High School in Bowling Green. Union County High School Athletics also stated on Twitter that the football team has no cases of COVID-19, nor are there any cases within their schools.
