Indianapolis traded for Carson Wentz to end the annual revolving door at quarterback.
Now, just four days into training camp, the Colts are scrambling again.
With Wentz out indefinitely because of an injured foot, the Colts have gone to their backup plan — relying on three young quarterbacks who have never thrown an NFL pass, and Brett Hundley, who signed Saturday.
Hundley has played for Green Bay, Arizona and Seattle. He has played in 18 games and started nine in his six-year career. He brings a stabilizing presence to a team that started training camp with four quarterbacks.
The Colts also have four players on the reserve/COVID-19 list and coach Frank Reich has not yet returned to the field after testing positive late last week.
