Wesselman Woods Partners With EVPL to Host 'Library Day'

Kids and families will have the opportunity to explore Wesselman Woods on Wednesday during 'Library Day.'

Wesselman Woods is partnering with the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library to host a 'Library Day,' where families can explore Wesselman Woods and learn about nature in the process.

Library Day will kick off at Wesselman Woods on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. 

Anyone who'd like to attend the free event can simply show their library card at the front desk to get into the Nature Center and enjoy a day of guided hikes, storytime, and animal encounters.

Full Schedule for Library Day at Wesselman Woods:

  • 9:30 AM = Guided Hike through Wesselman Woods
  • 10:30 AM = Storytime with the EVPL
  • 11:30 AM = Animal Encounter
  • 12:30 PM = Guided Hike through Wesselman Woods
  • 1:30 PM = Storytime with the EVPL
  • 2:30 PM = Animal Encounter

According to Wesselman Woods, anyone who doesn't have a library card will be able to sign up fr one with the EVPL Outreach Vehicle, which will also have nature-themed books and storytime kits available for check-out.

Just another day in paradise; afternoon highs again topped out in the mid to low 70s across the Tri-State under a mix of sun and clouds. If you have plans out and about this evening, make sure to grab a jacket before you head out - after seeing temperatures near 64° around dinnertime, the mercury will dip to 57° by 10 o'clock before falling all the way back down into the mid to upper 40s early Wednesday morning. Sure, tomorrow morning's lows of 47° will represent our mildest start to a day since this past Friday, but it's still going to make for a cool start to our midweek nonetheless. The combination of sunshine and southerly winds however, will help drive temperatures back into the low 70s by lunchtime - if you're planning on lunching outside Wednesday, make sure not to do so in the shade. Wind gusts near 15 mph at times during our lunch hour will make for a chilly brown bag lunch outdoors.
