Willard Library's Children's Summer Reading Program is returning in 2021, library officials announced Wednesday.
The program will kick off at 10:00 a.m. in Willard Library Park on June 5 and will continue through July 31.
Willard Library says its goal for the Summer Reading Program is to keep local children’s minds active and reading while school is out for the summer.
The first week's theme will be "Under the Sea," which will explore oceanic creatures, shipwrecks, treasure, and deep-sea mysteries. Willard Library says the program will offer a new theme each week with related reading materials and live programs or virtual crafts.
Kids who actively participate in the program and fill out reading logs will be entered in a drawing to win one of three grand prizes at the program finale on July 31.
Registration for the reading program starts on Saturday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. where the library's annual book sale will also take place with activities for kids, food trucks, and giveaways.
You can also register for the event online on the Willard Library website.
The program is free and offered to all children ages 0-15.
