As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in southwestern Indiana and around the Tri-State area, mask requirements are becoming more common.

Willard Library in Evansville, Indiana, now joins the list of facilities requiring everyone who enters to wear a mask.

The library said that starting Monday, Aug. 2, all staff and patrons would be required to wear a mask inside the building due to rising COVID-19 cases.

The number of new positive COVID-19 cases has been on the rise in Vanderburgh County since mid-July when healthcare officials announced the highly contagious Delta variant was now the dominant strain in the area.

Recently, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 163 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Vanderburgh County in a single day.
