Woman Arrested For Shoplifting and Drugs at Evansville Wal-Mart

Smith had $151.75 worth of stolen items according to EPD.

According to police records around 4:45 Saturday afternoon Evansville Police responded to Wal-Mart on N. Burkhardt Road after Loss Prevention Agents say they watched 42-year-old Angel Marie Smith exit the store after stealing clothing and other items.

Smith was one of five arrested Saturday for shoplifting or drug charges.

Police say Smith left the store and was stopped by Wal-Mart security.

Smith had $151.75 worth of stolen items according to EPD. When officers took the woman in custody, they also found a baggie of weed.

Smith had two active warrants and a history of shoplifting according to court records.

Smith was charged with felony shoplifting and is being held without bond at the Vanderburgh County Jail awaiting a court appearance.

Just another day in paradise. Temperatures surged back into the low 70's for the first time in a week and a half and with southerly winds finally returning to the region, more warmth is on the way for the Tri-State. In fact, this evening looks nothing short of absolutely gorgeous across the area - by dinnertime we'll have fallen back down to 71°, but only as low as 58° by 10PM. So, if you have plans out and about this evening, all you may need will be a sweatshirt. We'll also remain relatively mild early Saturday morning, especially when you compare Saturday morning's anticipated low of 48° to previous mornings earlier in the week. Brrr.
