Owensboro Police on Monday charged a 34-year-old woman with 1st Degree Arson after they say she intentionally started a fire inside of a local Walmart.

The Owensboro Police Department responded to the Walmart at 5031 Frederica St for a fire inside the store around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 19.

On Monday, July 20, OPD Detectives were able to locate and charge the suspect, 34-year-old Heather Brown of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Brown was charged with 1st Degree Arson after police say she intentionally started the fire.

Police say the fire was started while there were shoppers inside the store, but that no one was injured as a result.

According to OPD's report, the only thing damaged by the fire was clothing inside of the store - not the building itself.
