Coroner Identifies 23-Year-Old Woman Killed in Weekend Henderson Crash

A 23-year-old woman who was killed in a crash on US 60 E. Sunday has been identified by the Henderson County Coroner.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office is looking into a single-vehicle crash that killed one person.

According to the sheriff's office, the crash happened sometime around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday on US 60 E. near the intersection at Highway 1078.

When deputies responded to the area, they said they found a wrecked car and a 23-year-old woman that had been ejected from the vehicle.

According to the sheriff's office, the woman was the only person in the car at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was later identified by the Henderson County Coroner's Office as 23-year-old Delania Dawn Martinez of Owensboro.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some higher amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
