The Inner-City Youth League started their season Sunday at the C.K. Newsome Center in Evansville.
The League is sponsored by local non-profits 'BOSS INC.' and 'Mothers Holdin' It Down."
The League is free for kids between kindergarten and eighth grade.
Nearly 227 kids are in the program which is divided into 13 different teams.
"It's just we're trying to reach these kids and keep them out the streets," says John Holland, League Referee. "Give them something to do instead of doing that street activity that's been going on out here."
The League had to take a year off because of the pandemic.
The season opener featured food trucks donating 30 percent of sales to keep the group going.
