Evansville Firefighters wrapping up a call, Wednesday night, were surprised to spot a familiar face nearby.

According to the department, Station 8 and 10 crew members ran into ZZ Top's guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons.

The rock star was checking out a hot rod in a garage next door to where EFD was finishing a call.

Gibbons took the time to snap a photo with the firefighters.

ZZ Top was set to play a concert in Evansville this week but had to cancel because of a band member's health concerns.

It's a seasonable and dry start to Friday, but the heat is going to turn up this afternoon. Partly sunny skies will stick around with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The humidity may take the way it feels up a notch. Those southerly winds will help push in that moisture making it feel more like the low 90s. An isolated shower can't be ruled out, but any rainfall won't ruin our plans.
