Evansville Police Investigating Infant Death

The Evansville Police Department is investigating after the sudden death of a 7-week-old infant.

The Evansville Police Department says an investigation is ongoing after a 7-week-old infant was found unresponsive Sunday.

Police say officers were sent on a medical run with an ambulance crew to the 2500 block of Sunburst Boulevard around noon.

Upon arrival they tried to resuscitate the child.

A short time later the child was pronounced deceased.  Police say the child had been sleeping with his mother when he had been found unresponsive.
