One Killed, One Injured in Evansville Shooting Incident

According to police, a man died on Friday after being shot in the 1300 block of N. Fulton Ave in Evansville.

One person has died following a shooting incident in Evansville Friday.

Police were dispatched to a shots-fired call in the 1300 block of N. Fulton Avenue near Georgia Street around 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

When they arrived, officers found a man who had been shot and was laying outside of a building. After being transported to the hospital, the man died from his injuries.

Police say a woman was also at the scene of the shooting incident, and that she had sustained a gunshot wound to her foot. She remains hospitalized, where she's expected to survive her injuries.

The woman told police that she had shot the man because he had been abusing her.

No further information on the incident has been released at this time, but police are continuing to investigate.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
