The string of violence started Monday, after police arrested and charged a man for firing 6 shots into an occupied apartment complex on Penbrooke Avenue. Two women were inside of the home at the time, when one bullet pierced the window and flew into the kitchen.
Tuesday, officers responded to two separate incidents in different blocks on West 9th St.
At 10 a.m, a caller in the 1600 block of W 9th, reported a vehicle and an occupied residence were struck multiple times by gunfire. No injuries were reported, until officers responded to the 2400 block 10 hours later. After arriving on scene, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to Owensboro Health.
"He was transported to the hospital, injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. At this point we're investigating it, we're investigating the possibility they could be related, but we haven't determined that for sure," says Public Information Officer, Andrew Boggess.
Not long after, callers reported hearing "Rapid Gun Fire" on the intersection of 4th and Castlen St. No Injuries were reported, but more than 20 shots were set off.
OPD is encouraging anyone with information to call the Owensboro Police Department, or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
