Flooding of this magnitude typically causes significant damage to crops, floods numerous roads, and may cause evacuations. Flood crests at or about moderate flood stage are expected on the White River from Elliston to Edwardsport early this week in southwestern Indiana. Numerous rain gauge reports from our big rain were in excess of three inches. Some totals were in the 5 to 8-inch range, peaking at 7.41 inches in Spencer in Owen County and 7.42 inches in Ellettsville in Monroe County. Beware of flooding at and near these locations, including area roads, especially at night. ...The Flood Warning is now in effect until tomorrow afternoon... The Flood Warning continues for the Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Some agricultural lands underwater. A few rural roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up Minnow Slough. High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in Palestine. A few private roads near the Gill Township levee in Sullivan County may flood. Water level is at the top of most makeshift levees. &&

* Impact...At 20.5 feet, County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City. During the March 2008 flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March 19 through April 9. As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet and falling steadily for the past 2 days. &&

* Impact...At 22.9 feet, A 25 foot section of Levee Unit 8 failed at this level on March 6 2011...flooding local roads behind the levee. Flooding not nearly as bad as June 2008 levee failure. Flooding was very close to one of the June 2008 failures. &&

County Road 600 W just north of river flooded by possibly more than two feet of water for a considerable distance in Mary Long Cutoff Area. County Roads 900 W and 750 S begin to flood in Greene County. &&
